The status of Career Technology Education students is somewhat different from other students in the district and perhaps requires clarification.
Career Technology Education students have a dual status, since they are students of the district or home school as well as the Career Technology Center. Commensurate with this dual status is dual responsibility. Career Technology Education students are required to fulfill their responsibilities as students at both the home school and the Career Technology Center on a daily basis.
In those instances where calendar or scheduled differences occur between the home school and the Career Technology Center, attendance will be governed by the following guidelines:
- If classes are scheduled at the home school, but not at the Career Technology Center, a schedule will be provided at the home school.
- If classes are scheduled at the Career Technology Center, but not at the home school, students must attend classes at CTC.
- Exceptions to the foregoing may occur as a result of cancellation of school due to impassible roads, or early dismissal from school resulting from a snow/ice storm.
- Special programs or assemblies in the home school never preclude attendance at Career Technology Center, unless a student is involved directly as a participant, or unless otherwise informed by the high school principal.
- If, for any legitimate reason (extracurricular participation, medical appointment, etc.) it becomes necessary for a Career Technology Education student to remain in the home school rather than proceed to CTC, as scheduled, he or she must report to the high school principal for assignment.
