Kindergarten

Students are working on letter recognition, sounds, rhyming, phonemic awareness activities, and high frequency words either through games and/or the Wilson Fundations Intervention or UFLI.

First Grade

 Students are working on letter recognition, sounds, rhyming, short and long vowel sounds, phonemic awareness and phonics activities, high frequency words and reading decodable readers either through games and/or the Wilson Fundations Intervention or UFLI.

Second Grade

Students are working on multisyllabic words, variant vowel patterns such as r controlled vowels and vowel teams. They practice reading and writing these words as well as reading decodable passages from the Wilson Fundations Intervention or UFLI to assist in fluency and comprehension. 

Third Grade

Students are working on multisyllabic words, variant vowel patterns such as r controlled vowels and vowel teams. They practice reading and writing these words as well as reading decodable passages from the Wilson Fundations Intervention or UFLI to assist in fluency and comprehension.  

Fourth Grade

Students are working on multisyllabic words, variant vowel patterns such as r controlled vowels and vowel teams. They practice reading and writing these words as well as reading decodable passages from the Wilson Fundations Intervention or UFLI to assist in fluency and comprehension.  

Fifth Grade

Students are working on multisyllabic words with affixes, using the Word Connections program.   They practice reading and writing these words as well as reading decodable passages.  Occasionally, they reread passages from Read Naturally to support fluency, as well as practice comprehension questions and writing a summary of the passage. 

Sixth Grade

Students are working on multisyllabic words with affixes, using the Word Connections program.   They practice reading and writing these words as well as reading decodable passages.  Occasionally, they reread passages from Read Naturally to support fluency, as well as practice comprehension questions and writing a summary of the passage.
