FOREST CITY REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

FCRHS Counselors

n order to be eligible for admission to any Career Technology Education Program, a student must be at least fourteen (14) years of age and must have satisfactorily completed the 9th Grade.  Certain programs may have additional prerequisites for admission.  Please note costs of materials and student kits above.

Applications for admission are available in the Guidance Office.  The application form is to be filled out in duplicate, with both copies submitted to the guidance counselor.

The decision-making function as it applies to student selection is a cooperative procedure shared by both the home school and vocational-technical school.

Each student/applicant and his or her school will be notified in writing of the student's acceptance by the Career Technology Center, as soon as possible after the decision has been made.  Normally, the acceptance notices will be forwarded by April of the year in which the student would be eligible to attend.

The final selection of the student is based upon such factors as interest, previous achievement, counselor recommendations, teacher recommendations, quota, attendance, and test results.

Once admitted to a Career Technology Education program, retention will be contingent upon regular attendance as well as successful achievement at both the home school and Career Technology Center.  Unsuccessful evaluation in terms of attendance or achievement may lead to termination of Career Technology Education enrollment.
