School districts across Pennsylvania are experiencing shortages in qualified substitute teachers. Our district is also experiencing the same shortages. Therefore, the district is reaching out to any parent or community member who might be interested in becoming a substitute teacher.
Substitute teaching is an ideal way to supplement your income while setting your own schedule. Daily substitute teaching provides a flexible schedule that fits your lifestyle-you choose when you want to work. In addition, it is a way for you to impart special skills you have obtained through advanced degrees or years of work experience.
Substitute teacher candidates may hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate or an out of state certification. In addition, any individual with a four year degree in any discipline, is qualified to be a Guest Teacher. Training will be provided to interested applicants.
You are invited to attend an informational session to learn more about becoming a substitute teacher in the Forest City Regional School District. The session will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the High School library.
