Student Dress Code

School Year 2017-2018

1. All upper body attire (shirts, dresses, blouses, etc.) must completely cover the torso from the waistline to the collarbone so not to expose any midriff, cleavage, or chest. All long or short sleeve shirts are to have a collar.

2. Sweaters, sweatshirts, and hoodies are acceptable outer attire. A collared shirt must be worn under the approved outer attire. A standard turtleneck or mock turtleneck can be worn under the approved collared shirt.

3. Manufacturers’ insignias or logos on collared shirts, button shirts, and approved outer attire are acceptable. There are no size restrictions on logos. All wording, phrases, or other representations must be directly related to the manufacturer's insignias or logo. Final approval of wording, phrases, or other representations is at the discretion of the administration.

4. Forest City Regional “Forester Gear” is considered acceptable attire during the school day. All items must be related to a team, club, activity, or school related group that are sponsored by the District.

5. All lower body attire (pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, and dresses) must be worn at the waistline. The hemline of all shorts, skirts, skorts, and dresses must extend to the fingertip. Denim, camouflage, cargo style pants or shorts, leggings, pajama pants, spandex pants, and yoga pants are not permitted.

6. All clothing must be clean and free of any holes, tears, or rips. Clothing made of material that is sheer or see-through is not permitted.

7. Shoes must be worn at all times and must be attached to the foot. Flip-flops, shower shoes, and opened toed shoes are not permitted.

8. Piercings are limited to the ears and nose. Pencils, open gauges, rods, or similar objects through the ears or nose are not permitted. The administration has the right to require removal of any piercing that causes a safety concern.

9. Hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, sunglasses, visors, spiked jewelry, or anything deemed disruptive or unsafe by administration will not be permitted. Coats and scarves designed as outer attire are not permitted during the school day.
