We will be having our Forest City Regional School District Children’s Produce Market sponsored by the Commission on Economic Opportunity, People Helping People and the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank.
The Produce Market will be held on:
Thursday, February 9th, 2017 from 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM.
Pick up will be in the High School Lobby near the gym.
The Children’s Produce Market takes place once a month. On the 2nd Thursday of each month, each family who registers will receive fresh bags of produce at no charge to them. There are no income guidelines to receive the produce however a family must have a child in school. Registration forms are to be returned to school by February 2nd.
As part of the program, we will be utilizing students to divide the produce into family sized bags. All food is delivered on pallets and in bulk in the early afternoon. Pick-up will be from 3:45 PM until 6:00 PM. Adult volunteers are needed during pick-up time.
*Proof of income is not needed*
The primary focus of this program is to encourage healthy eating at ALL income levels.
