Summer Day Camp (kids entering 1st grade through 7th grade)
A BETTER SUMMER STARTS HERE
We’re ready for Summer are you? Come embark upon your Summer adventure here at the Greater Carbondale YMCA Summer Daycamp program. Summer daycamp is safe, fun, and a way to make new friends and memories.
Our full-day, day camp is offered from 9:00am-3:00pm with additional care before starting at 6:30am and after ending at 6:00pm.
Throughout the week the campers swim, goes to local parks, plays both gym & team building games, and attends field trips on Wednesdays (like Camel Beach, SnoCove, H2O Waterpark, Wayne County Fair, and MORE) and Fridays to Merli Sarnoski or Alysworth Parks.
Also included with camp is the FREE food program, where all campers will receive a free breakfast, lunch, and snack. During the week campers also participate in science experiments and cooking projects which will be turned into that days snack. Campers will make life-long friends at the Y as they make memories together.

Fee for full day summer camp is $115 for YMCA members and $145 for non-members. (There is a one-time, $30, non-refundable, registration fee for camp that must be paid at the time of registration.)

Mini Camp (Grades pre K-4)
Mini Camp at the YMCA runs Wednesday and Fridays from 9:30am-12:30pm. Campers will experience all the fun of Day Camp at the Y. They will swim, have sports time in the gym, use their imagination while making projects, and make new friends. Lunch is provided each day.
(There is a one-time, $15, non-refundable, registration fee for camp that must be paid at the time of registration.)

School Year Camp
The YMCA offers daycamp at the Y during the school year when school is not in session. Also if school is cancelled due to inclement weather, the Y offers camp. Camp starts at 6:30am with beforecare and runs until 6:00pm with aftercare. Regular camp hours are from 9:00am-3:00pm. Activities included are gym time, swimming, arts & crafts, and much more. Campers need to pack a lunch, bathing suit, and towel for these days. All children from all the local schools are invited to join in the fun-filled day.

Camp Inspired by: “Here I Come To Save the Day! The Science, Culture & Art of Superheroes”

What makes a superhero?
Is it the costume?
Is it the special power?
How about strength and movement?
Or is it his/her identity?

In conjunction with the summer exhibit, “Here I come to Save the Day! The Science, Culture and Art of Superheroes”, Campers will experiment with unique challenges each day that demonstrates how a superhero becomes so super!

Camp Inspired by Alfred Twining’s Herbarium, Nay Aug Park, and “Here I come to Save the Day! The Science, Culture, and Art of Superheroes”

Campers will discover nature’s superpowers through comic book characters and science!

From poisonous plants and outrageous storms to amazing geographical formations, campers will study specific comic book characters that find power in nature. We will compare fantasy to reality through a series of scientific studies.

By the end of the week, campers will better understand just how powerful nature can be!

“Building a Better Community

This week, campers will create a unique solution to a community need.  They will work together to
design a product that is made to better serve our community. Campers will learn basic design skills and complete a group project that they will present to a panel of local judges.

Back by popular demand!

During our final week of adventures, campers will become culinary experts while learning everything there is to know about the Farm-to-Table movement. By the end of the week, campers will develop team recipes, cultivate locally sourced foods, and prepare their dishes for the parent finale! At the finale, campers will present recipes to a panel of local foodies who will give feedback on their creations.

Summer Playgrounds Program

Our 7-week playground program will be operating playgrounds at Donald B. Stabler Memorial Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Edgemont Community Park, and Crown Point Park.

Dates: Monday, June 19, 2017 through Friday, August 4, 2017

Ages 8 – 13 (Highest grade level accepted is incoming 8th grade – the child’s most recent report card is required at time of registration.)

Open Monday through Friday! 9 am – 2 pm

Registration/Program Costs:

This is a free program!  Field Trips are the only costs: $15 – Wednesday field trip and *$5 – Thursday Pool trip.

Wayne County YMCA Day Camp gives kids an adventurous, active and healthy summer—one that will surely be described as “the best summer ever” for years to come. YMCA camp programs offer youth fun and unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.

Tuition & Registration Information

Grades: Children entering Kindergarten-8th grade in the 2017-2018 school year.

Cost (Members):               2-Day Plan $65     3-Day Plan $90        5-Day Plan $120

Cost (Nonmembers):    2-Day Plan $85          3-Day Plan $110         5-Day Plan $150       (4-Day Plan $120 Week 3 only)Deposit: $20.00 per week non-refundable down payment is due at registration. This deposit is subtracted from weekly fees.

Sibling Discount: First child pays full price and siblings attending the same week receive a $10 discount.

Tuition: Must be paid in full a week in advance of attendance. Exceptions to this policy approved only by the Executive Director.

Changes: Changes made after registration must be made at least a week in advance with any additional payment.

Financial Assistance: Available through an application process. Process takes 3-4 weeks to complete.

Camp T-Shirts: Campers must pay $7.00 for a camp shirt if they are attending field trips. Additional shirts are $7.00 each if available.

Field Trips: All Field Trips are scheduled for Wednesdays. There will be extra fees associated with trips to cover attraction entrance and transportation. Children attending camp on field trip days must go on the trip and wear their Y t-shirt. Campers must bring a disposable lunch as well as extra water and snacks.

Honesdale: Lakeside Elementary School- 129 Lakeside Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431. Park in the side lot and enter through the cafeteria entrance of the school for drop offs & pick-ups.

Wallenpaupack: Wallenpaupack Primary School- 158 Atlantic Avenue, Hawley, PA. Park your vehicle to the far right in the front of the school & enter through those doors. Drop-offs and pick-ups will be in the hallway by the classrooms each day.

Students at The Baum School of Art’s Summer Art Camps and The Fashion Academy will have a blast this summer while learning how to create art and fashion. One week and two week camps run from June 19 – August 11, 2017. Children and teens, ages 5-17, can register for ½ day camps or full day camps. Morning studio art camps are from 9:00 am – Noon and afternoon studio art camps are from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Students who stay for the full day have a supervised lunch hour with a movie and convenient After Camp Care is available from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
