MCANDREW MEMORIAL AWARD

Dedicated to the memory of Dr. L.A. McAndrew and his son, Dr. Richard L. McAndrew and Dr. Patrick McAndrew

Eligibility:      
Seniors who intend to enter a career in a health and/or science field

Criteria:          
Grade point average; class rank; SAT scores; teacher recommendations and a one-page, typewritten essay.

Award:            
$5,000

DAVID M. CAVALIERI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Dedicated to the memory of David Cavalieri, a 2012 FCR Graduate

Eligibility:      
Seniors involved in at least 2 varsity sports

Criteria:          
Good academic standing; evidence of being compassionate and kind to others

Award:
         
$1,000 to be awarded at Class Night

JOSEPH AND KATHLEEN STERCHAK SCHOLARSHIP


Eligibility:  
   
Deserving senior entering the engineering or architecture career field

Criteria:          
Transcript; evidence of community and extracurricular activities; work experience and any other information you want the committee to know about you

Award:  
       
$ 2,500 to be awarded at Class Night

Disabled American Veterans Chapter 114 is pleased to announce it will once again offer its annual scholarship to a high school senior from Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, Forest City, and Western Wayne High Schools.  To be eligible for this scholarship, the senior must have either a parent or grandparent who is a disabled veteran of the Armed Services.  The student must also be planning to further their education (2 or 4-year college, junior college, technical school or other career institute). 

The amount of the scholarship will be $500, along with congratulatory letter and certificate.  These will be awarded by a DAV representative at their seniors’ awards ceremony.

The process is quite simple and no essay or difficult procedures need to be followed.  All we need is a  3” x 5” card with:

Student’s Full Name
Disabled Veteran Parent/Grandparent’s Name (and Branch of Service)
High School Attending
College/Junior College/Technical School Planning to Attend:
Deadline: Thursday, 4 May 2016.


Cards will be mailed through the Guidance Office

One card will be selected at random by the keynote speaker at the annual Memorial Day Celebration which will be held in Honesdale on Monday, 29 May 2017.
